What is Oracle VirtualBox and why do we need it?
VirtualBox is an open-source (freely available) application that allows us to virtualise an entire operating system (OS) within another system. For example using Windows 10/11 with VirtualBox to virtualise Kali Linux. It allows us to use multiple OS's without rebuilding our laptop/desktop and to use multiple systems at the same time.
What is virtualisation?
Virtualisation is the process of running a virtual instance of an OS in an application detached from the system hardware. As mentioned before, it often refers to running multiple OS's on a the same computer system simultaneously.
